5 out of 5 stars More of a lip base than a "plumper", but I still love it!   April 24, 2006

I bought this along with too faced's lip plumper (which I love and works well). This product doesn't plump as much as it is a lipstick base that fills in the little lines and crevices that we all have (especially in winter)creating a very smooth, even surface for which your lipstick can adhere.

This also helps the lipstick stay on longer - and it's better than using regular foundation on your lips as a base because it conditions the lips as well.

So, while it may not plump your lips like those of Angelina Jolie, Benefit's Lip Plump does make them look better and feel better in the end.

If you actually want your lips to be pouty, I recommend the Too Faced lip plumper (or Lip Fusion XL)... and then, use the Benefit lip plump under your lipstick, the "pout" lasts about 3-6 hours.

(Remember to put on the too faced plumper for 10 minutes and wipe off before putting on Benefit's lip plump under lipstick.)

The results are really great looking kissable lips. :)

5 out of 5 stars it works if you follow the directions   December 5, 2005

I have found that this works so well, I only use it every other day. You're not meant to use it immediately before you apply lipstick, because it takes a little while to work and anyway, it is tan and doesn't make a good lipstick base. I used it at the start of my beauty routine, right after I wash my face. Then you have to "pat, pat, pat" as the instructions say. That means, pat your lips with your fingertips a few times. Then allow at least 5 minutes to go by, THEN put on lipstick. If you use it every day for a few days you WILL notice a change. You may even switch down to every second day like I have.

5 out of 5 stars Surprised it works so well!   November 22, 2007

I've been using this product for the last 2 weeks and have been really pleased with the results. My lips are pretty thin and this is a good, subtle plumper. This product has really helped my lipstick stay on MUCH longer. It still looked pretty fresh after I had a mug of hot chocolate. Will definitely continue to use this product.

I was a little hesitant to try a lip-plumping product, but I've loved all the other Benefit products I've tried, so figured I would try this too. It's a little like putting foundation all over your lips and the instructions have you tapping your lips to get it worked in. The effects are subtle, but nice - although it does sometimes make my lips throb a little a few hours after application. Not something that I use every day, but you certainly could if you wanted to. Works well if you cover with liner/lipstick or just colored gloss.

4 out of 5 stars A Good Trick   February 19, 2005

With all the lip plumpers out there that just don't work, Benefit gives you a product that really can give the illusion of bigger lips. Go ahead and cheat with this foundation for the lips. You can go a little out of the lip line, cover with lipstick and there you have it -- plumper looking lips. I would never wear this with only a lip gloss though. I've used up my tube and am now using LipFusion which actually does swell the lips a bit. But if you really want a more dramatic look Benefit fills the bill.
